Bendigo Art Gallery

Mary Quant: Fashion Revolutionary arrived in Australia exclusively at Bendigo Art Gallery, direct from London's V&A. Reimagining the exhibition for Australian audiences, we set out to capture the spirit of a woman who didn't just follow culture — she made it.

Quant seized the zeitgeist of 1960s London with a fearless energy that transformed women's fashion forever — hiking hemlines, liberating silhouettes, and bringing boutique style to the affordable mainstream. Our task was to honour that legacy with the same daring and conviction, carefully navigating guidelines set by the V&A and the Mary Quant brand while embracing the creative licence the brief afforded.
Quant-inspired pattern and colour swept through the gallery at every turn, immersing visitors in the boldness and optimism of the era.
A bright, daisy-shaped selfie booth offered a playful reimagining of Quant's iconic symbol — inviting audiences to step inside the story and make it their own.
