Local culture is more than entertainment — it is the connective tissue of community life, integral to quality of life and one of the pillars of long-term social sustainability. When Macedon Ranges Shire Council engaged us to design a new strategic plan for community engagement in local arts and culture, that understanding shaped everything that followed.

Macedon Ranges is a region of striking natural character, defined by world-famous volcanic rock formations that have long shaped the identity of the area. We drew on these iconic landscapes to build a visual identity as distinctive and enduring as the region itself — concentric circles evoking participation, connection, and partnership within the community, forming a bold and flexible backdrop for vibrant arts and culture events.
