City of Melbourne
Creative Spaces Guild is a joint initiative of the City of Melbourne and Creative Victoria, conceived to encourage creative connection and enliven local neighbourhoods through collaborative shared spaces. When we were engaged to develop the branding and signage for the site and its associated gallery spaces, the challenge was as much about unity as it was about identity.
We developed a graphic patterning system that explored the thoughtful melding of two existing brands — City of Melbourne Creative Spaces and Guild — finding a visual language where both could coexist with coherence and character. The resulting linear and organic forms were applied throughout the site, serving as both wayfinding and decorative elements, giving the spaces a warm, cohesive presence that reflects the collaborative spirit at the heart of the initiative.
